A deterministic and reproducible historical test
The Strategy Lab applies selected parameters to historical data and preserves the test assumptions. Starting capital, period, currency, costs, slippage and benchmark remain visible so the result can be reviewed and reproduced.
Results can include simulated ending capital, total return, compound annual growth rate, maximum drawdown and transaction history. A fair comparison uses the same period and currency.
Understand the result instead of seeking a promise
Brainier can explain strengths, vulnerabilities, difficult periods and differences from the benchmark. This interpretation supports learning; it does not turn a historical result into a buy or sell recommendation.
A backtest can be affected by period selection, data quality, parameters and overfitting. Past performance never guarantees future results.
